Help Me Decide on a Blush Brush!

February 5, 2015

510mn-blushHello readers!Β  Hopefully all is well in your world. πŸ™‚

For today’s post, I need your input.Β  I’ve had by beloved M.A.C. blush brush since 2006 and sadly it’s showing it’s age now and shedding like crazy.Β Β  I am on the hunt for a new one and while I wouldn’t mind purchasing another M.A.C. brush-it really is great- I can’t ignore the plethora of amazing brushes that have surfaced in recent times.

So, my dear readers, I’d love to hear from you:Β what blush brush would you recommend?Β  You’ll not only be helping me but also anyone else who is currently looking for a new brush. πŸ™‚

I look forward to hearing from you,

StephanieΒ Β

Oh this is so hard to choose, but my two favorite blush brushes are Real Techniques Blush Brush for $8.99 and the Sigma F15 for $27.00, one low end and one high end. I have heard great things about Zoeva and I hope to place an order later this month or March because I feel like you can never have too many brushes lol <3 Janet

I have a funny feeling Real Techniques is going for the win, haha. I have a Sigma eyeliner brush and it’s really good but I may stick to something a little less $$$ for now. I have to save for my CT purchases. Darn this current obsession with CT makeup. I literally check the site everyday searching for what I can get. Sorry, that was a little off-topic, lol. Thanks for in suggestion! πŸ™‚

LOLOL I know what you mean I haven’t seen the Mattes come out yet and I keep checking. I really want some but I guess I technically don’t need anymore lipsticks but these we both have wanted for ages. Yay to RT you won’t regret it πŸ™‚

        • stephieestie says

          February 5, 2015 at 6:29 pm

Yeah I don’t technically need any more lipsticks either but that’s why I will get colors I don’t really have. Totally valid and justified excuse, right? πŸ˜‰

LOLOL yes that is my excuse on my big orange kick. I even showed my husband my collection to justify why I needed more orange lipsticks and he agreed hahaha he is the best! Well I got 3 orange lipsticks but I am saving those for Spring/Summer since I have to use up these dark ones I have

            February 5, 2015 at 10:49 pm

Awww…sounds like a good husband. πŸ™‚ I love orange lipsticks on cloudy days because I feel it brightens things up.

I am excited to try out orange because it took me forever to wear nudes and now I can’t stop so I hope orange is the same πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for the input. Everyone has been raving about them but I still want to get feedback from my fellow bloggers and readers. πŸ™‚

        February 5, 2015 at 12:15 pm

It’s probably one of my favourite brushes! I use it for blush, bronzer and highlight, I probably need to get another! Haha.

Awwh, such a shame your little brush is one it’s way out!! It lasted sooo long!! Definitely Real Techniques for me – they’re fab πŸ™‚ X

      February 5, 2015 at 11:47 am

I know Karen, it’s sad. πŸ™ Yes, it lasted such a long time. I took real good care of it and it’s traveled to NYC, Cabo and beyond! Real Techniques seems to be in the lead right now. Thanks for your response πŸ™‚

        February 5, 2015 at 3:15 pm

Oh wow – that’s one well travelled little brush!!! Almost seems a shame to throw it Stephie… I’m ridiculously sentimental :'( Hope you find a new travel buddy soon *sob* Xo

          February 5, 2015 at 6:35 pm

It is (was?). I don’t want to throw it out, seems so harsh, but it just sheds so much now. πŸ™ Looks like RT may have to join me from now on

I agree with the other comments, the real techniques blush brush is amazing. It’s also good for applying bronzer and powder so it’s very versatile xx

I really like using my sigma angled contour brush for blush! πŸ™‚ but I agree, the real techniques blush brush is really good too. And I bet they have one in their new metallic collection! πŸ™‚

    • stephieestie says

      February 5, 2015 at 6:23 pm

The metallic collection sure looks pretty. Thank you for your feedback Amy! πŸ™‚

The original real techniques blush brush is where it’s at! But I really want to get my hands on the new one in the Rose gold packaging! Just not so happy about the price tag

    • stephieestie says

      February 5, 2015 at 6:27 pm

Thank you! I know sometimes the price can be a deterrent but if they last a long time and the quality is excellent, I don’t mind. πŸ™‚

I have the RT Blush brush & RT Multitasking brushes for blush. The RT Blush Brush is bigger if u like them fluffy.

    • stephieestie says

      February 5, 2015 at 6:39 pm

I do like blush brushes more on the fluffier side because I feel you have better control over the color versus a denser brush where it may apply to much color that you need to buff out. Thanks Cos!

      • theworldofcos says

        February 5, 2015 at 8:08 pm

Cool! I would go with the RT Blush Brush then! πŸ™‚

Coastal Scents has some nice blush brushes & are super cheap. I love the blush brush of theirs I have.

    • stephieestie says

      February 5, 2015 at 6:49 pm

Thanks Amy! I’ll check those out. I think I may try the Real Techniques one but since Coastal Scents are inexpensive, I may pick one up too. Doesn’t hurt to have a back up. πŸ™‚

I have a review on my blush brush on my blog (along with some other Coastal Scents brushes I have) back in December. Tomorrow I got a review posting of some more Coastal Scents brushes I got last month.

You should check out Flower Beauty Ultimate Blush Brush at Walmart. It is my favorite brush and I’ve had zero hair fallout. It’s about $13 bucks and adds color beautifully.

    • stephieestie says

      February 6, 2015 at 12:13 pm

Thanks for the suggestion! Flower Beauty is Drew Barrymore’s line right?

      • glamwithsam says

        February 6, 2015 at 3:31 pm

Anytime! it certainly is and it’s a great little brush line. I feel your pain since I had to throw away (it hurts even to say it lol) my Mac blush brush after having it for 8 years.

        • stephieestie says

          February 9, 2015 at 11:06 am

Those brushes do last long! A fellow blogger (Karen from Confetti and Curves) gave me the cute idea of demoting the brush to a duster so I may just do that. I feel your pain of throwing it away though. πŸ™
