Oct PSMH

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  October’s PopSugar Must Have Box arrived over the weekend, prompting a great start. 🙂  Take a peek at what was included in this month’s box!

Inspiration behind this months box.

Oct Insp

The Honest Company Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub Lavender Vanilla, $17

Perfect for fall and winter, this body scrub has sugar and salt to slough away dead skin cells while shea butter and almond oils hydrate the skin.  Oh, and it is Lavender scented. 🙂

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling, $25

I’ll be honest and say I’m not really a fan of The Mindy Project but I did read the first chapter in this book and I found it entertaining.  This book is a collection of essays that “shed light on her less-than-perfect fit in Hollywood.”

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product, $11.96

Considered a special extra, this leave-in product detangles, adds shine and stops frizz.  “It’s a 10 Haircare is a proud partner of Right Action For Women, helping provide advanced cancer screening to women.”

Belgian Boys De Stoopwafel, $1.59

The second item I tried after taking pictures and this was heavenly! It’s a caramel-filled waffle that’s a nice treat without being overly sweet.

Donation to Breast Cancer Awareness

“In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PopSugar Must Have has made a donation to Right Action For Women.”

PS 1

Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set, $8

Definitely not something I would have ever thought to purchase, these imaged paper bags can be used to carry your favorite bottle of wine to any special occasion.

Savvy Sleepers Luxury Satin Pillowcase, $36

This 100% satin pillowcase “prevents sleep wrinkles, reduces hair breakage, and protects salon blowouts for the ultimate sleep experience.”  I do notice that sometimes I wake up with these creases on the side of my face with my regular pillowcases and since switching to this, they seem less pronounced.  More time will tell.

Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Socks, $15

These pink slipper socks were designed by PopSugar to support Breast Cancer Awareness month. “Richer Poorer proudly supports the fight against breast cancer and the important work of Right Action for Women.” These will come in handy once things start cooling down over here but for now, these will be put away as the sight of them causes me to cringe with this hot weather.

Danielle Steven Monogram Gift Card, $40

Another special extra, this $40 gift card can be used to receive your own monogrammed statement piece.

Also included were coupon codes: 20% off Savvy Sleepers and 30% off products purchased online from The Honest Company.

April Faves!

April 30, 2015

AprilFaves

Hi everyone!  Can you believe another month has practically flown by?

With today being the last day of April, here are a few products I have been enjoying this month.

Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque

With the weather warming up, I’ve had a few breakouts here and there and this cooling clay masque always helps clear up pimples since it’s formulated with salicylic acid, while kaolin and bentonite mop up excess oil.  I use this mainly on my T-zone or as an overnight spot treatment.

Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel

A great exfoliating treatment that consists of enzymes and several fruit acids such as mandelic, lactic, salicylic, tartaric and malic for a sweet skin treat that will leave skin soft and glowing.  Smells like and has the consistency of jam complete with berry seeds.  One word of advice: Since the color of this mask is red, if you decide to walk around with other people in the house, let them know so they won’t freak out. 🙂

The Honest Co Lavender Mint Lip Balm

I received a trio of lip balms as part of a gift bag when I attended a film festival and I instantly fell in love with this one.  I get my calming lavender scent fix-yes, I love aromatherapy and this type of lavender is my favorite- as well as moisturized lips that feel light.

Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Blush in Trickery

Mousse like texture and  long-lasting peach color that’s wallet friendly.  Need I say more? Click here for a complete review.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Birkin Brown

My first Charlotte Tilbury purchase. From the gorgeous, sophisticated packaging to the product itself, I can see what all the hype is about.  This matte lipstick feels creamy on application, delivers a chocolate cream opaque coverage in one swipe (but can be sheered out) and stays that way for a few hours.  It’s similar to the new Maybelline Mattes but in my opinion stays a bit more hydrating than those.  Exfoliating your lips prior to use is a must and layering a lip liner underneath helps the wear time.    Below is a picture of me wearing Birkin Brown.

P.S. According to the Charlotte Tilbury website, there is one day left in the U.S. to purchase the Modern Matte lipstick so if you’re interested head on over there to check them out. 🙂

I still have a few new items I received that I haven’t tried out but this is it for this month.

What are your April faves?

Hand Cream Favorites!

September 25, 2014

As colder weather starts to set in (except maybe here in California), were bound to be bombarded by excessive handwashing and hand sanitzer use in an attempt to prevent colds.  The disadvantage? Dry hands.  Here’s a couple of staple products I like to keep on hand. 🙂

Hand Sanitizer

bathandbodyworks.com; target.com

Bath and Body  Works Pocket Bac Hand Sanitizing Gel, $1.75 and The Honest Company Hand Sanitizer Spray, $2.99

Small and portable, the Pocket Bac Hand Sanitizers come in different scents and the Hand Sanitizer Spray makes disinfecting surfaces easy.

Crabtree & Evelyn

crabtree-evelyn.com

Crabtree & Evelyn Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream in Rosewater, $8-$20

Was gifted a hand cream from this brand a few years back and I love how it contains ceramides and vitamin E to help moisturize the skin, yet feels light.  Found this one at TJ Maxx for about $7.

Cuadalie

sephora.com

Caudalie Nail and Hand Cream, $9-$15

Used this citrus scented hand cream back in esthetic school and loved how quickly it absorbed into skin.  It contains grapeseed oil and vitamin E to provide antioxidant properties as well as shea butter.  Leaves nails with a nice sheen.

Shea Cashmere

bathandbodyworks.com

True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere and Silk Hand Cream, $12.95

Have used and repurchased this one for a long time and love the vanilla and sandalwood scent.  Leaves hands feeling super soft.  I have noticed this leaves behind a bit of shimmer but I don’t mind as it’s subtle.

Lush Charity Pot

lush.com

Lush New Charity Pot, $6.95-$25.95

New to my collection, I use this hand and body lotion at night or after I shower since it has a heavier and thicker consistency.  Albeit ylang ylang and cocoa butter are dominant scents in this one, I find it’s the least scented one out of the bunch.  Also, every dollar except the taxes goes towards a charity

Loccitane

sephora.com

L’Occitane Hand Cream, $12

Another staple product as it’s creamy but non-greasy.  Shea butter is blended with honey, almond, grapeseed and coconut oils for a nice, hydrating formula that lasts.

Hope you enjoyed the post. What’s your favorite product?
