Skin Tip: Potential Skin Irritants!

March 13, 2015

Happy Friday readers!  I was dismissed from jury duty so everything should be back to normal next week.

I met up with Karla, a fellow esthetician friend, last Sunday and the conversation drifted to potential skin irritants.  Sometimes when our skin feels itchy or sensitive, it may be caused by the detergent you use to wash your clothes.  Interestingly, and I’ve experienced this myself, dryer sheets can also be a culprit in this matter.  Always consult your physician as your case can be something else entirely but this is also a good thing to watch out for and keep in mind.

Have a great weekend everyone and I will be posting my giveaway details next Tuesday!

I have had that happen too! So we usually use a fragrance free laundry soap. I switch it up sometimes though. Have a great weekend! 🙂

It’s so annoying if you ask me. Not all dryer sheets do that to me but this particular brand did. I was itching like crazy. Have a good weekend too! 🙂

I know what you mean. Certain hair conditioners cause my body to itch too! I’m trying to cross-reference ingredients but it’s kind of hard to do with so many ingredients. 🙁

I have same experience when I just moved to U.S., I was guessing the amount of surfactants are different between my country and here.

Could be. It’s never been a huge issue but I switched up detergents and dyer sheets and not a great experience. 🙁 I think maybe fragrance has a lot to do with it too.

Oh yea that’s true because of fragrance. I’m not too sensitive but had better try from small bottles 🙂 Thanks for the great tip as usual!

Good advice! My skin is so sensitive, I have to be on the look out for that

Thanks V! It’s a pattern I noticed that was recurring when all of my skin was just itching like crazy. Something to look out for and keep in mind.
