Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask Review!

April 14, 2015

Fresh

Hi everyone!  Thank you so much to all who sent me their well wishes!  I appreciate it!  I’m just waiting for the results now.

Today I have a review on a sample I received at Sephora from Fresh.  Here’s my take on this product. 🙂

Described as a mask that works in sync with the skin’s natural nighttime recovery process to achieve a lifted, firmer look by the morning. The intensely moisturizing treatment has a corset-like effect on the skin, giving the appearance of a visibly more defined, contoured complexion.”

Pros

Hydrating

Absorbs quickly

Not heavily scented

Good antioxidants

Cons

Pricey

Peptides are towards the bottom of the list

May not provide drastic firming results as claimed

Added fragrance

At a Quick Glance

Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester– peptide that can help strengthen skin (elastic fibers); sensitive skin soother and anti-aging ingredients.

Lychee– brightens, rejuvenates and protects skin caused by dehydration and UV damage.

Black Tea Ferment– provides anti aging effects and enhances skin smoothness.

Bottom Line: I think this product has a good range of anti-oxidants, including green tea, emollients and moisturizers and would be great for those who have normal, dry or combination skin that is looking for added moisture;my face felt nice and hydrated.  Although it doesn’t feel heavy and absorbs quickly, I wouldn’t recommend this for oily/acne prone skin.  It has peptides that can help strenghten the skin however I don’t feel it’s concentrated enough to make a drastic difference in respects to firming capabilities.  For the price, personally I would instead invest in a product that is more concentrated with peptides or a professional treatment if you’re looking for better firming properties. However, if you want a hydrating mask with great antioxidants and have the money to spend, this would be a great product to try out.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts?

I still need to use my Fresh Rose face mask sample that I got a while back, your post just reminded me of it. It seems over all the black tea mask is pretty good just pricey. I just looked up how much it was and oh my goodness you’re so right! lol

It is but ya, the price tag is yikes! Like I said, I would much rather invest in a different product although I do like this. It all depends on what results you want. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Rose one. 🙂

Thanks Cos! Yeah if you’re more on the oily/acne prone, it may be heavy for you. My doctor seems positive everything will come out okay, I think it’s just been all the meds that have kind of screwed me up. I’m am just so done with feeling sick though. I appreciate your good thoughts. 🙂

Good! I was so tired of being sick earlier this year too. It is annoying being sick. Eats into plans. Still have allergies, but thankful they are not too bad right now.

Agreed. Being sick sucks although, wasn’t that every kids dream when they didn’t want to go to school, lol. Well, at least for me it was. Glad you’re doing better and I think allergies are hitting hard this year. Hope you feel 100% soon! 🙂

I hate how pricey Fresh can be 🙁 I don’t think I have tried their masks but I love their ridiculously pricey eye cream that I always ask for a sample to be made so I don’t have to buy but I love it I might just cave. I hope you are feeling better and that the results come back with not bad news. <3 you xoxo Janet

I know what you mean. I was thrilled when I ordered during the holiday season and they had a deluxe sample of the eye cream. I like the eye cream but won’t pay the $$$ because it isn’t anything really spectacular. Thanks for the well wishes. I just know I still have a bit of a cough and an inflamed larynx so every now and then my voice goes hoarse because of it. I’ll have to see my other test results but the doctor said it should be okay, I’m just ready to be over and done with so I don’t have anymore side effects from the medicine. 🙁

Thanks Katie! Yeah, it’s a pretty penny and for that much, I’ll invest in something else (Dermaquest)that is a bit more pricey but well worth it in my opinion. 🙂

You’re welcome. 🙂 I’m sure you’re bound to have a good product in the subscription boxes. Or you can always ask for samples wherever they are available. That’s always one way to go and if you really love it, then you can save up for it. 🙂

I feel like a lot of the pricey masks are overrated personally. I’ve used a few Origins masks and they seem to do a decent job for $25 a tube, so I think I’ll stick with those. The charcoal mask actually works at pulling out the gunk in your pores; it’s the only mask that I’ve seen a difference with the day after I use it. I hope you feel better and that your results come back with good news!

I agree. Unless it’s organic or has a high concentration of peptides or something, the price is unjustified. Charcoal masks are great at removing gunk and I love to use them during the summer when I tend to breakout a bit more. Thanks for the well wishes! 🙂

You always go to Sephora and get a sample first to see how you like it. 🙂
